String Quilt Style--a fabulous quilt class with textile artist, Janet Fulton! Longmont

String quilts are named for the strips of fabric used to create these dynamic quilts. These "strings" are sewn onto a permanent foundation. The foundation blocks are sewn together in a variety of ways to make a custom quilt top. Often, string quilts are scrappy and a perfect way to use some of those remnants from other projects. A more coordinated fabric selection can result in a quilt with a more elegant or refined look.  Take the class and use up some of those scraps so you can buy more fabric!

We will review color theory, value and visual texture to learn how the use of color and pattern will bring your quilt to life. In class, we will create four of the blocks from the "String Quilt Style" book by Mary M Hogan.
