Beginning Foundation Paper Piecing in Longmont
In this class you will learn the basics of foundation paper piecing. The method that we teach involves sewing directly onto a printed paper pattern while the fabric pieces are held in place underneath. This allows you to create a quilt block with unusual geometric shapes, small pieces or odd angles on the bias. What we love about paper piecing is that it is fast and extremely accurate and doesn't require a lot of supplies!
The pattern & kit will be provided at an additional cost if you're interested.
For the class you will need to bring the following:
- Packaged kit of fall or holiday fabrics or your own fabrics with pieces cut to size as indicated on pattern
- Sewing machine in good working order with power cord, foot control
- Open toe foot (not required but nice to have)
- Thread and bobbins (we love using Wonderfil DecoBob 80 wt thread)
- Seam roller
- 6" Add-A-Quarter rule
- Rotary cutter and small cutting mat
- General sewing supplies
- Foundation Paper
- Lunch or snack
Kit will be available at Maggie's
