In this full-day technique workshop, you'll learn speed piecing techniques for 8-10 borders and the mathematics associated with them will be discussed.
Handout: Please have $5 for Jackie at the beginning of class (for researching, writing, and printing)
Fabric: This is an improv class where you will be designing as you go. Please cut and label the following squares and strips (width of fabric also known as WOF, from selvedge to selvedge) PRIOR to the workshop. You can choose coordinating fabrics or they can be just the ugly fabrics that you don't have a use for anymore! Each color value (light, medium and dark) can be in the same color family or from many different fabrics as long as you can put them into the light, medium, and dark categories. Please bring a little extra of each value for "goofs".
Light colored fabric: two 6 1/2" squares, eight 4" squares, three 2 1/2" x WOF strips, three 1 1/2" x WOF strips
Medium colored fabric: two 6 1/2" squares, two 2 1/2" x WOF strips, three 1 1/2" x WOF strips, one 2" x WOF strip
Dark colored fabric: two 7 1/4" squares, four 6" squares, one 2 1/2" x WOF strip, three 1 1/2" x WOF strips, two 2 1/4" x WOF strips
