This class is great for beginners or anyone who wants a skill refresher. You will learn all of the basic skills necessary to be a confident beginner. Everything from how your machine works, care and maintenance, types of needles and thread, and cutting and pressing techniques, to top stitching, boxed corners, pockets, zippers, binding, and interfacing. Mary will also show you lots of the great notions that you can use to make sewing easier and more fun! You will be using the book School of Sewing by Shea Henderson. All supplies will be available at Maggie's and you will receive a 15% discount on anything purchased for this class.

Requirements: | Sewing machine in good working order, basic sewing supplies (pins, scissors, tape measure, thread, marking pencil etc). Don't worry about having everything. We will talk about the differences and things to be aware of when buying supplies. |

Instructor Bio: | Mary has 65 years of sewing experience and is retired from the finance industry. She and her sister enjoy sewing together and make lots of projects for sale at various craft shows. She also loves machine embroidery and spends lots of time with her horse KC. |
